Alleghany Regional Hospital participated in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica on Sunday, May 7. Each department within the hospital was asked to make a contribution to this cause and $1300 was raised for this much needed cause.
Walking for the March of Dimes helps fight prematurity - a growing crisis that now affects half a million babies in the U.S. every year. Some of those babies die; others face lifelong disability. The money raised in WalkAmerica supports research and programs to find out how to prevent premature birth and how to help families who experience it. Because of each employee who made a contribution, more babies will be saved.
